What is FAMIS?
FAMIS stands for Family Access to Medical Insurance Security. FAMIS is Virginia's health insurance program for children and pregnant women who meet certain income guidelines. Bassett Family Practice has an onsite outreach advocate to offer assistance with information and enrollment. Information Needed for Enrollment:
- Child's original birth certificate;
- Child's Social Security card;
- Proof of income for all income earners in the household for the past month.
