Mobile Health Screening
Feb 13, 2010 09:00 AM - 12:00 PMJoin us at the Community Fellowship (2674 Virginia Avenue, Collinsville), Saturday, February 13th from 9 am until 12 noon for a FREE health screening. The screening will include cholesterol, blood pressure, blood glucose along with height and weight. Those participants that sign up at the screening to take the Healthy Hearts series (beginning Tuesday, February 16th at 6:30 at the Community Fellowship) will receive a heart healthy incentive at teh first session of the series!
Healthy Hearts is a four week series geared toward providing the information and encouragement people need to prevent heart disease and reduce hypertension and high cholesterol. Blood pressure and cholesterol are monitored throughout the series.
At a meeting for unemployed workers at the Martinsville courthouse, Mr. Secrest learned about FAMIS, Virginia's health coverage program for children, and applied with the help of the Martinsville Henry County Coalition for Health and Wellness.
