Your family may be eligible for FAMIS:

Family Access to Medical Insurance Security

If you have been affected by a change in family situation such as losing your employer based health coverage for your child after a job loss or by the rising costs of coverage or the copays and deductibles.
FAMIS is free or low cost state sponsored healthcare coverage for children under 19.
*You no longer have to apply through the Department of Social Services*

 Parents and Pregnant Women:

• You can apply for or renew* FAMIS coverage for your child at Bassett Family Practice, includes FAMIS Plus (Children's Medicaid)
• You can apply for Medicaid for Pregnant Women here, too.
*As of April 1, 2014, the renewal form is 19-26 pages long and it can be overwhelming and confusing.

If you need help or have any questions about Medicaid, please call Ann Walker, Project Connect Outreach for Martinsville, Henry and Patrick Counties or stop by to see her at Bassett Family Practice.
