Ingredients:
Lean ground beef/ turkey- 1 lb
Onion, diced- ½ cup
Garlic cloves, minced- 2 each
8 oz can of tomato sauce- 1 each
Water- ½ cup
Tomatoes, diced- 1 cup
Yellow mustard- 1 Tbsp
Worcestershire sauce- 2 Tbsp
Salt- ¼ tsp
Ground black pepper – ½ tsp
Whole wheat hamburger buns- 6 each
Serving Size:
1 Sloppy Joe
# Servings: 6
Instructions:
In a large skillet, cook ground beef or turkey over medium high heat for approximately 5 minutes. Drain fat. Add onions and cook 3 minutes or until onions begin to turn clear. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute. Add remaining ingredients except buns and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve on whole wheat buns.
